The most powerful words are the ones left unspoken.
Words meant to bring sight,
meant to light what’s sought after are silenced
out of fear of their becoming a token- value lost.
Like a person saving their last candle until an end to darkness is in sight
we’d rather hold out, groping our way around
Until the situation is just right…
Who determines when is the best time, do we wait for the whims of Opportunity
Or can It be subjected to our own design, working around our time?
Unspoken words lose their luster when courage isn’t mustered
to bring them out from the depth of our existence.
Words from deep, radiating, wanting, desperate to burst through all pores
pleading to be released from one glowing fire to the hungered flame of a companion-
a fiery train connecting and tying one to another.
But each time the light turns green
the mind gives the soul a beating.
Genuine expression relentlessly pushed down
Into a space entirely void of sound.
Lights dimmed, words cut and sliced
were once vibrant…now they’ve turned silent.
But it doesn’t matter
Because like water continually flowing with no release
Sooner or later these words will burst
And if not in the lingual
Then in the active actual,
A concentrated mass of power
Swelling hour after hour…
